The advertising industry is no stranger to the name of Art Director Jānis Birznieks, because he’s been a talented and professional representative of the industry for more than a decade. Jānis is happiest creating ads that combine copy and a visual image to say something good that has a positive impact on others. In recent months, Birznieks has concluded that the “less is more” idea is as relevant as ever and useful within any form of visual communication. However, it only works if you really do have something to say. Asked about his strengths, the Birznieks says: “I called my wife, and she said that I’m goal-orientated, friendly, patient and patient. Weaknesses? I can’t influence the weather. Therefore, I’m not too fussy,” laughs Jānis.
He draws inspiration from music, good design and people who change history. Here, one simply has to mention Jānis’ group Tramplīni for which he sings and writes both music and lyrics. This year, a new album by Tramplīni, Tumba Rumba has been released in the US. Away from the musical stage, Jānis devotes his free time to his family including his two sons and his hobbies – skateboarding and badminton. You get the feeling that the three of qualities required by an artist are combined within Birznieks – talent, humanity and a sense of responsibility! Welcome to the DDB team!
