Just as a Volkswagen Beetle ad once asked people: "Is the economy trying to tell you something?" the results of Most Loved Brands chart will definitely make you stop and think.
The awards ceremony took place at the Riga Art Space. Among the guests were not only the company and marketing managers representing the 50 most loved brands, but also the superheroes previously seen on the pages of Kapitāls magazine who were forced to adapt to the situation and become photographers tasty bites.
The biggest surprises in this year’s chart: the most awarded places were collected by new technology brands: 1. Nokia, 2. Google, 3. Inbox, 4. draugiem.lv. Many well-known brands have dropped out of the chart, and been replaced by new ones — Radio SWH, YouTube.com, Drogas, Audi, Tvnet.lv, etc. Most unique — Lāči, highest quality — Adidas, most influential — Nokia, most advantageous — Maxima, most talked about — iPhone, and the fastest growing — BiFri. Check out the rest of the results here.
We’re especially pleased for DDB’s partners – LMT, Maxima, Swedbank and Statoil, who, in spite of the difficult economic situation, have succeeded in winning the recognition of the Latvian population and taking their place among this year’s 50 most loved brands.
The awards ceremony duly concluded with champagne, cake and some conclusions. And among these conclusions, one should note the words of DDB’s Managing Director, Andris Rubīns: “The economic crisis is a time of trial and opportunity” and continue with a slightly improved quote from Rainis: “therefore, those who survive will be those who adapt." And not for nothing…
Best wishes to everyone and see you at the Most Loved Brands Top 2010!
