This August is unquestionably the month of sport. For weight lifters, swimmers, hammer throwers, cyclists, basketball stars, tennis players and many other sportsmen and women, the Olympic Games are the litmus test of their efforts and the most important event of the past four years. Their exploits and travails are watched and anxiously supported by their families, friends and acquaintances. Including us!
