Last week another step was taken towards a better Latvia with the opening of a new kiosk run by charity website: Ziedot.lv at Alfa Shopping Centre in which money for every sold item will be donated to charitable projects. Visitors attending the kiosk’s opening ceremony were entertained by Instrumenti. In turn, well known musicians, artists, lawyers and entrepreneurs have applied to work for the kiosk.
We were thrilled to be able to lend our support to the idea of a store which was dreamed up by Ziedot.lv Director Rūta Dimanta, who proceeded to act on her initiative and attract friends and partners to jointly attain a noble goal: the opening of the first kiosk run by charity website: Ziedot.lv. Many thanks to the supporters of good causes involved in this project including: the creator of the kiosk’s graphical identity DDB designer Jānis Birznieks, DDB Account Manager Ilze Ošāne, Alfa Shopping Centre which kindly agreed to provide free retail space, advertising campaign creators PHD and Nords Porter Novelli, CUBE, Gatis Rozenfelds and Film Angel studio and the kiosk’s interior designers Santa Meikulāne and Pēteris Zilbergs.
The Ziedot.lv kiosk is the first retail outlet in Latvia to offer its buyers the chance to buy various toys and other amazing items which have been handcrafted with loving care by youngsters with development problems, single mums, unemployed people, invalids from care centres, grandmothers and students.
Every purchase made at the Ziedot.lv kiosk will offer support to one of the people who have created a product. Moreover, all profits will be donated to one of the charitable projects supported by Ziedot.lv. The staff at the Ziedot.lv kiosk will also include be single mums, people out of work, pre-retirement age people or other socially vulnerable people who need financial support.
One should add that yesterday at the Latvian Society House, Rūta Dimanta received the Spīdola Prize for her contribution to the Latvian economy. We’re delighted and offer our heartfelt congratulations to her!
