In spite of the fact that we didn’t pick up an award, we can still be proud and happy about the way this year’s Golden Hammer advertising festival turned out.
Firstly, because we were the only agency from Latvia to make into the final of the viral video category with our work, Raitis Reverss. Raitis is the daddy of the Reverse Running Association and the first ever competitor to run the Nordea Riga mini-marathon backwards. And congratulations go to our colleagues from DDB Lithuania who won both a Silver and Golden Hammer. In total, more than 600 works from 25 countries were submitted to the Golden Hammer festival. 11 works from Latvia made it into the finals of their respective categories.
Secondly, we’re delighted that a new tradition was also finally established in Latvia during Golden Hammer – the agency open door night. This year, the festival’s guests were welcomed by ourselves, DDB, Mooz! and Euro RSCG. DDB Playnight, as we named our event, attracted an amazing degree of interest and positive feedback not only from festival guests, but also the jury. During the course of the evening, guests had the chance to try their hand at games including Wii tennis, table football and ice hockey, as well as Latvia’s favourite game of novuss, etc. We had even prepared a Golden Axe award for the best and most attractive player which was won by Sabīne Markus from Live Riga who received her prize on stage during the festival awards ceremony. Many thanks to our client Aldaris for providing us with a constant flow of beer during the DDB Playnight party, and to radio 101’s one and only DJs Švāns, Grēviņš and Reiters who made the event memorable from a musical point of view. And thanks to everyone who came to the party and infused us with unforgettably positive emotions!
