A few years ago during the filming of the biggest and most impressive Latvian film to date, “Rīgas sargi” (“Riga’s Guards”), LMT was involved in the realisation of the project. The film tells the story of the defeat in Riga of Bermont’s armed forces comprised of 50,000 men who were opposed by the Latvian capital city’s 11,000 courageous defenders.

Until now LMT has supported and in future plans to continue supporting cultural and art projects that are important to Latvia.

“Awareness of the history of your country is a matter of honour and a duty for every citizen,” stressed LMT President Juris Binde at the time.
