This month, students from the first class of the advertising school founded by the Latvian Art Directors’ Club (LADC) stopped by for a visit to DDB. The school functions according to the principle that “the harder it is to get through school, the easier it will be to find a job in an agency”. To demonstrate their creativity, the young talents were first introduced to DDB’s achievements and daily work and then carried out a creative assignment.
Vairis Strazds, DDB Creative related his impressions of Latvia’s advertising future:
“The AD School brought a number of pleasant surprises to light. Firstly, there are creative, young people out there who want to work in advertising. And not because it appeals as a well paid opportunity to have a good time, but rather because they perceive advertising to be profession best suited to their abilities. There was a second pleasant surprise — young, creative people consider working really hard to create something good to be self-explanatory.
And last, but not least, even though this is not really a surprise, young creatives are happy to choose DDB as their next employer.”
