In spite of the strong wind and waves which turned the 5.5 metre long yacht Solo horizontal on Lake Usma and saw one team member swept overboard, Solo secured an honourable 2nd place in its category in the “Usma Cup 2009” championship. DDB Consulting Strategic Director Reins Grants took on the task of regulating the spinnaker’s sails. In fact, Reins was originally a team reserve. However, circumstances intervened and meant that he ended up defending the team’s honour. And he was the only member of the team who managed to avoid going for a swim. “I didn’t fall in, because I was in the middle,” explains Reins revealing the secret of how to stay dry. Team Solo was satisfied with the result and proud of its reserve team member’s achievements. Maybe, after this competition Reins will become a member of the team’s first choice line up!
