With the growing popularity of the social tool twitter, for the first time in Latvia brand researchers have been presented with the chance to study the impact of brands in social media through research into people's chats. We're delighted and proud that in the first edition of the study (conducted from January until September) one of our partners: Radio 101 has been nominated as the most influential brand of the moment, ahead of Ir magazine and the Positivus music festival. Given the dynamic social media environment, the chart results will be updated on a monthly basis.
The most influential brand on twitter is chosen by us, DDB, in partnership with SOON, the pioneers of twitter research in Latvia who register several thousand social network chats everyday for research purposes. To identify the most influential brand, three aspects of a brand are studied: influence, topicality and popularity.
The most influential network on twitter, Radio 101 has also turned out to be the most talked about brand on the social network – it has received more mentions in entries by twitter users than any other brand. Ir magazine has been the most successful brand in creating content that people want to share, while airBaltic is the most popular social media brand and is followed by more than 12,000 twitter users every day.
