On the morning of May 17, more than 8,000 people poured onto krastmala and the streets of Riga. They all hit the streets with one goal. To run in the Nordea Riga Marathon. Among them were 14 folks from DDB who set out to test their endurance over various marathon distances. Our creative impulse to run was spelled out as RUNFORREST. Also in place was the legendary Forest Gump bench which was positioned next to the National Theatre and captured the attention of both runners and bystanders. A few of us ended up setting personal records. Others ran just for the fun of it, whilst in the relay both DDB teams dead heated. The main thing is that we all got one and the same feeling of satisfaction! And not just because we’d just completed 130 km together, but also because with the idea we created for the marathon (clip and print) we were jointly responsible for organising a terrific marathon festival together with the team from Nords Event Communication. Together we managed to attract 8,593 runners from 35 countries which is 3,300 runners up on last year.
